Why work for us

Your are here: Home Careers Why Work for Us

We provide a working environment and conditions which attract and retain their workforce.

Many of our staff (General Practitioners, nurses and receptionists) have been working with us for nine (9) or ten (10) years.  We have the philosophy that we are all in this together.  We have monthly meetings where every member of staff has a say and is listened to.

Promotions are mainly internal. General Practitioners are extremely well paid and nurses and reception staff are always paid above award rates.

Training / Education is extremely important and some of our receptionists have been helped to become Registered Nurses and are working for us again as Registered Nurses.

We have on-site Accountants and Medical Recruitment Specialists who also offer advice to every member of staff when required.

We are registered with the Department of Immigration as an Approved Business Sponsor, to enable the smooth employment of Overseas Trained Doctors when required.

We are centres of high quality best practice care.

Every one of our Medical Centres is fully Accredited (AGPAL).

We are also accredited with the Department of Justice and Attorney-General for Workplace Health and Safety.  This is extremely rare virtually no other medical centres have this certificate.

We have fully trained Workplace Health and Safety trainers as employees plus a ‘Return to work’ Coordinator. Our comprehensive Recall and Reminder Systems have already been described within these pages. We also have comprehensive documentation and policies for Induction and Orientation of our staff.

Our Doctors all offer quality Evidence Based Medicine.

We support the future primary care workforce.

Every one of our Receptionists and Registered Nurses are local people.

Our receptionists are trained to help patients use services to their best advantage.  Receptionists play a vital role in our Primary Health Care Team and are governed by confidentiality in the same way as our General Practitioners, Nurses visiting Specialists and other Allied Health services by staff members.  Our General Practitioners rely on our receptionists to be approachable front line staff’.  Information given to our receptionists allows the member of staff and General Practitioner to identify cases that need an urgent response.  The information will be dealt with exactly the same as all information under the confidentiality clause of their employment contract.

Our team also include Registered Treatment room Nurses, Registered primary Health Care Nurses who are trained in areas of special interest such as Cardiovascular Health, Diabetic Health, Mental Health, Asthma and Drug and Alcohol problems.  We will employ and assist in the training of on-site Dieticians, Diabetic Educators, Podiatrists, Radiographers and Physiotherapists.

Training and Education have always been of prime importance.  This is something that we are proud of and we believe that we stand well ahead of the rest.

We offer complete liaison with the Occupational Health Companies.

We liaise with the Companies on many aspects:

For example developing a‘Safety Critical Positions’ protocol. This information is placed on our clinical software. This enables us to act in situations where a ‘Safety Critical Position’ may be compromised. For example:

TO REALLOCATE A POSITION FROM A ‘SAFETY CRITICAL POSITION’

  • Initiate medications which may impair judgement and consequently compromise safety
  • Change of dose of medications which may impair judgement and consequently compromise safety
  • Onset of a clinical disorder which may compromise safety

EXAMPLES

  • OTC cough medications, anti-depressants, anti-hypertensives
  • Hypertension
